Is God on our side?
A few years back I went through a pretty challenging season in my marriage and personal life. I remember questioning how I could possibly ever be whole and healed again. In times of pain, it can feel so lonely and isolating, and we can feel as if we are the only one struggling. We can be temped to believe no one could understand us, and think it’ll just “ always be this way.” I remember even doubting if God was on my side.
Through that season in my life I realized that God is after a deeper relationship with us, and sometimes will use challenging times to capture our attention. Sometimes we find ourselves in a deep pit, forcing us to look upward at the God who longs to have a relationship with us.
A couple verses that have really spoke to me in difficult times:
“We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope..” -Romans 5:3-5
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.” -Philippians 4:6

These verses have given me comfort in some dark times. As much as my flesh wants to try and take things into my own hands, I have found that God’s ways always work out better than my own. I hope these verses can encourage you, through whatever you are going through, and you can take comfort in the fact, that God is truly on your side.
