About coaching?
Alongside my work as a licensed mental health therapist, I also offer coaching services—especially for athletes, teens, and young adults who want to strengthen their mental game, build resilience, and improve performance.
What is Coaching
Coaching is a goal-oriented process designed to help individuals enhance their focus, mindset, and performance. In the context of sports and athletics, I work with athletes who may be experiencing:
Mental blocks
Difficulty staying focused
Challenges with motivation or consistency
Pressure in competitive environments
Performance frustration
Coaching is about building strategies, tools, and habits to maximize potential and meet personal or athletic goals. It is future-focused and performance-driven.
12 week commitment
How is coaching different from therapy?
It is very important to understand that coaching is not therapy.
Therapy addresses mental health concerns, emotional struggles, trauma, anxiety, depression, or other psychological conditions. It is focused on healing, insight, and mental health treatment.
Coaching does not address mental health diagnoses or clinical issues. Instead, it supports growth, performance, and achieving specific goals in sports, academics, or life.
If you are struggling with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or other clinical issues, coaching would not be the right fit—but therapy may be. Coaching is for individuals who are generally functioning well but want to enhance their performance, resilience, or mindset.
My Role as a Therapist Offering Coaching
Because I am a licensed therapist, I take care to keep these two roles separate:
Coaching is not mental health treatment.
Coaching does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
Coaching is focused only on mindset, performance, and personal growth.
If you’re unsure whether you would benefit from therapy or coaching, I’m happy to help you explore the difference so we can determine the best fit for your needs.
